I think Bazan is sort of a 21st century Elijah, someone nobody invites to a party, or expects them to play by the rules of dominate religion. I think just below the surface, he's saying something the whole church needs to consider. I would agree, this is one of the best songs he's done...but I can see that it's not easy to get at either.
