Reading a Max Lucado book, for me, is like sitting down and having a conversation with an old friend. Sometimes the conversation is a little quirky, sometimes it goes off on a bunny trail and sometimes it's very poignant but what's important is that it always means something to me. I'm always able to glean some wonderful, little gem of truth (from Lucado's books or from conversations with friends) that I didn't know was out there. Oh, and in my opinion, in a world that's shrouded in the darkness of the evil one a little gratuitous cuteness is not only welcome but necessary.
