“Our worship is what we do with our freedom. Community and freedom culminate in worship. The giving of oneself to others for God’s redeeming purposes through Christ represents an understanding and integration of His mercy and grace. Worship is both the cause and result of freedom. Our response to God is self-sacrifice and surrender, which… is the fuel for the road to freedom. As created beings, we can only be truly selfless to the creator. All other gods will bring us back around to self – and end up being idolatry. In this way, we are only truly free when we ascribe all worth to God, in response to the freedom he has given us in Christ.”
