I think Anne Rice just went Emergent!

Check out these two posts on her Facebook page yesterday. First this:

And then this a short while after…

All the tell-tale sign are there:
- Remains committed to Christ but is no longer a “Christian”
- Sees other Christians as difficult to get along with
- Refuses to be against anything
- Quits Christianity and being Christian “in the name of Christ”

Did I miss anything?

(I can’t believe I scooped this before Ken Silva got to it!)

Very sad, paritcularly that (depending on the context in which she means it) she could be saying that she’s anti-Bible.

Congrats on scooping Ken, by the way!

I’m still recommending her life of Christ novels BTW. I really liked them both and am anticipating the next one.

So you’re saying you’re all the anti things that she listed?

  • http://michaelkrahn.com/blog michael krahn

    I don’t even think that’s humanly possible.

So according to the people she’s hearing from you’re not Christian either. Welcome to being Emergent.

    Yes, probably to some.

Please do note that my post is tagged both “humour” and “satire”.

Labels just aren’t as useful as they once were. Even “emergent” means way too many things to be useful. “Jesus follower” works for me.. at least.. today.

I had actually never heard of this lady before, but I read an article on Yahoo. Definitely caught my attention.
